Logan Nelson’s funeral arrangements announced

A visitation for the late Indiana Wesleyan University student, Logan Nelson (jr), will be held May 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee, Indiana, according to Nelson’s obituary.

Nelson’s funeral service is scheduled for May 20 at 10 a.m. and will be officiated by Kent Bgurstron. He will be buried at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana.

A longtime resident of Elkhart, Nelson was a 2014 graduate of Concord High School where he was heavily involved with the school marching band.

Working towards a degree in General Studies, Nelson would have entered his senior year at IWU in the fall.

At 21-years-old, Nelson died at 1:33 p.m. on May 16 due to a motorcycle accident at county roads 17 and 18 in Elkhart.

Surviving are his parents, David and Kim Nelson of Elkhart; brothers, Colton Nelson of Durham, North Carolina and Nathan Nelson of Elkhart; grandmother, Gayle Nelson of Elkhart and grandfather, Edward Carroll of Elkhart.

Memorial contributions are requested to be given to Concord area bands.
